The Advanced Power & Energy Cluster (APC) will be a catalyst to provide innovative technology for the nation’s warfighters while accelerating regional economic development. APC is one of three national Advanced Defense Technology (ADT) Clusters funded by the Small Business Administration.
The APC will be focused on Department of Defense (DoD) needs for the technology area of “Advanced Power & Energy” (including, but not limited to power and energy generation, storage, distribution, conservation and supporting technology) in the geographic area (at a minimum) of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The APC will collaboratively leverage the industry, academic, nonprofit, governmental and other assets of the region to bring innovative solutions more rapidly to the nation’s defense needs, while contributing to the technology-based economic development – particularly for high technology jobs – of the region.
The Defense Alliance is the Upper Midwest’s defense and homeland security network. The mission of the Alliance is to network and expand the defense and homeland security industries, to create and retain high quality jobs, and to further promote the region’s important contributions to our men and women of the armed forces. Membership is currently free, and consists of businesses, organizations and individuals interested in furthering its mission.
The Department of Defense (DoD) actively seeks innovative technology and service answers to challenging issues for its current and future power and energy needs. Members accepted to the APC have access to R&D and direct contract solicitations, DoD agency and prime defense contractor points of contact, as well as updates with regard to DoD power and energy needs.
